The best of the best.R.I.P
Wittman lost the first tiger knocked out in Overlord
It was recovered and repaired though according to most sources. The 1st Kompanie attack later that day lost Tigers completely.
It's me from the live on tiktok

That was a fine tribute by the Colonel...A fine tribute!
I was at Matzrap for three weeks in the summer of 2002.
Thx for uploading!
Someone decided they did not want to be in it. Strange how they never told anyone they never wanted to appear on social media, but were always there for a pic. Never mind probably famous on Facebook, Tik Tok, instagram and other social media now
What happened to the last video?
Very Nice Video. Thanks for sharing.
Nice video Steve, hope all is well.👍
Yes had to remove the original soundtrack due to copyright. Off again in June 👍
Interesting. Matzrap the Medical Base was a common place for Volunteers.

never forgoten
Wittmann did not return to the afternoon phase of the battle, the 1st Kompanie Commander Karl Mobius led his kompanie's Tigers along with elements of the Panzer Lehr into a very well prepared Tiger killing ground, losing 5-6 Tigers to mainly 6lbdr AT guns. Leiutenant Bill Cooton and his Sgt went around the Village setting fire to the KO'd and abandondonned Tigers and PzIV's with blankets and gasoline.
And a couple of months later Wittman's and his four Tigers were easily destroyed...and pretty much for the same reason the Brits were hit so hard at Villers Bocage, they blundered into a situation without knowing what they were blundering into...yet Wittman is treated as a big hero...he was just lucky and got away with it.
Wittmann was allegedly not happy about that attack. He was concerned about it. He was quiet and sombre before he set off. He was battalion commander and shouldn't have gone but felt it was his responsibility as it was a difficult task against the odds for the chosen inexperienced commander (Heurich). Wittmann had orders from Kurt Meyer for his Tigers to attack north and make a preemptive strike against the British/Canadian positions to try and catch them unaware. Keeping the allies from Falaise was the bigger picture. Wittmann cautioned about the wooded area/orchard to the front right, but it was too late.
Andy Baxter was my Jnr Troop Sgt in 71 at JLR RAC Bovington. I occasionally bulled his boots. He became Jnr RSM.. It was obvious even then that he was destined for great things . A fine soldier and natural leader.
Salute
It was a month later when he was taken out? He servived VB.
Oooooo I luvvv Sar-el bigtime. Experience giving back to your Jewish roots keeping your heart connected o Eretz Yisrael. GREAT memories as I see myself in this video.. Thanx Steve.
My Great Uncle was in one of the Halftracks when Michael Wittman opened fire he saw the tank then bailed out into a field but then he got captured he died in 2014 aged 92 rip
My relative never made it out of there, he died nearby on June 15th aged 24
It was a great idea, Steve!
I remember getting the news of an SAS along with his American friend, I'm pretty sure it was an IED, had a big funeral for the lad. Felt horrible for his Family...
Very nice. I did 3 Sar el tours, 2002,2003, 2004. Haven't gone back since I got married in 2005. My wife and I are planning to make aliyah, hopefully later this year.
Planned to go in June last year, then the Covid. Set my sights on January this year, no change. Was hoping June this year, but that won’t be happening either. Would have been my 7th Sar El and 12th visit to Israel. Good luck with your Aliyah 👍
IRA said they killed over 20 SAS heard 9 but then ya had DET and MRF but last two was not special forces even though ya had 22 and other regs in them. Was 2 RTA Irland and some in uk around time of troubles
Very brave men worthy of respect.
Cant wait any longer for my Sar El Duty Hope they will understand soon or later that a duty at Arms should be necessary too Turkeys eyes stareing at Greece and Israel GOD BLESS ISRAEL
Seems to me that a lot are dying climbing mountains, parachute accidents an vehicle accidents, heart attacks while training.WTF.is going on.
This Ekins looks like noob with great luck.
Excellent video, except for ending. Wittman was most likely killed by Canadian tanks.
Michael WITTMANN was a Real, True Hero. We wil never forget him.
Thank You, from Germany.
Very possibly the most rewarding three weeks you'll ever spend. Come a week-end early and stay a week-end after your "hitch". See and feel the country, talk to the people (everyone speaks English) over a beer or a falafel. It'll change you and you'll love the change.
Can you keep the uniforms afterwards?
No only wear them while you are there. Can buy IDF uniforms and equipment froma shop in Tel Aviv central bus station
Steve Martin okay thank you but I don’t think I’ll do that because I think you can only wear it when you deserve it. But thanks🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱💙💙💙
@@Taffnp how much are the uniforms?
@@workstuff6082 They are supplied, though a few people do buy their own and keep them. They have two sets, and this is their work set, not designed to look smart ir be ironed.
Germans get shit for their gear being bad, yet 1 Tank utterly curbstomped most of an Armored Coloumn, even taking hits from a 17lber at close range. Lets see any Allied tank try that same stunt and live....
that's all very well but a simple 6 pdr got him in VB and the subsequent attack by the Germans cost them all of their Tigers and Pz IVs. Everything the British lost was probably replaced entirely within days.
michaelbevan3285, Yes but only after attempts (and hits) by others totally failed. His Tiger was only disabled.
